The first person who volunteered to walk Flora is 77, does not need extra exercise (she rides her bike everywhere) and has many other commitments beyond a silly beagle. But she wanted to help, and help she did. Friends, if you want the secret to a long life, observe bike dignitary Ellen Fletcher who has done it all without doping!

Volunteer dog walkers include Ellen, Celia, Angus & Jason, Maria, and Katie & Matt. Morgan and Liz not only walked her but took her for a 24 hour beagle spa extravaganza. What is a beagle spa? She was left alone in a yard with trees that have had squirrels in them. Flora stared at one tree for two hours in hopes of seeing her prey dance on the branches.

Thankfully the system is working in terms of slowing down Flora. She has really calmed down. This is SO SO helpful to me.

Radiation is buzzing along. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger or something like that. It turns out that I am in that unlucky 20% who find radiation SUPER tiring but I have made my peace with staying at home and watching videos and playing with Flora.

I have only have nine more treatments to go!

I do have some hair. See picture below.

If you want to be a Carolyn Helmke sycophant, you can also see my pic on the web site for my support group for young women with breast cancer. (top center.)
